The 8U Fury got off to a strong start with a 16-6, 3 inning blowout of the Lady Hitmen with hits around and strong defense. The final game of pool play versus the Morrison Steam started off 5-5 through one inning prior to defenses tightening up, the Steam pitcher made a stellar catch of Culvey's line drive for the third out of the fifth inning saving two runs, while Clutter fielded a slap hit at third base rifling the ball to St Vincent at the plate for the tagged third out in the bottom of the fifth to save the tie.
The "real" championship game was the first round of elimination featuring a rematch of Steam and Fury; it lived up to expectation. Fury jumped out to an early lead that was whittled away over innings one through three; the game tied 8-8 once again in the top of the fifth, lead off hitter up for both teams, the Stateline Fury went on to score five then hold in the bottom of the fifth to advance to the championship game.
The Fury started slow in the championship game, the fourth game of the day, with some bad bounces and rough defense but cleaned up and finished off the Green Xtreme 13-7 outscoring the Xtreme 10-2 over the last two innings before the game was called due to run limits through four. The Stateline Fury finished the day 3-0-1 outscoring it's opponents 50-30.
